I prefer a hand held style rather than an umbilical, I was thinking about a kowalski 1250 or bigger, are there any others? I have owned and used a hartenburger for the last 4 years which has been a fantastic bit of kit although there are no dealers in the uk so spares are a nightmare, also they want almost as much as a new one to repair it after a small amount of water got in and buggered the circuit board which regulates the power. Any other makes any good that you can recommend?

We saw sharks on every dive except one. We dived 2 wrecks, artificial but nice. Saw a Whale Shark and a couple of Manta Rays. Had some nice drift dives. Never went below 45m, wasn't much down there.

Out of the 6 liveaboards I have done this was by far the best for many reasons, mainly the sharks.

My favourite shot was taken my Mrs, me in the background with the yellow Force Fins.

I have a couple of spaces left on this Trimix trip to the Scilly Isles. The boat will pick up and return to Newlyn, Penzance and we will be accommodated in B&Bs in St Marrys.

The wrecks that I am considering are Orion (a barque positively identified near Wolf Rock), HMS Pincher near the Seven Stones, HMS Decoy, Western Front and possibly the deeper HMS Monarch (battleship in 115m) or at a similar depth the USS Jacob Jones. The last two would be planned for the Wednesday of the trip and the only ones beneath 100m. There are always the shallow wrecks near to the islands if the weather does pick up too.
send me an email at gerardpunch@hotmail.com if you are interested.

Following on from the thread http://www.southwestmafia.com/forums...ead.php?t=7053

I have come to the conclusion boat yards are like doctors. You go for years never visiting one, but once they have you on their books you are bo!!oxed.

Anyway, the terminal, undefined boat disease, seems to be nearly cured. The last stage is a new prop shaft as the old one was bent by 5 thousands of an inch and worn by the packing gland.

This means the boat should be back in the water in the next 2 weeks :Huzzah :Huzzah :Huzzah for sea trials.

The re-fit has taken a lot more time (money) than I expected, but we are nearly there. I intend to operate her as the dive boat I would want to go on. I have got approval to operate commercially once a small modifiction to the lift has been done and the life raft re-located. (Bl**dy red tape) You would never believe that buying a fully certified charter boat to be a fully certified chater boat would take so many changes. It is a permanently shifting goalpost and the IIMS change their minds daily.

Hi all

I haven't dived for almost 2 years now, so have sold almost all of my kit, but I have a few things remaining. Make me an offer!

Otter Skin dry suit. All black, with front loading zip. Made to measure- will fit a girl/ woman of 5'5", weighing 9.5-10 stone, size 10-12 with size 5 feet. Incredibly reliable suit- all functioning perfectly when last worn. Wrist & neck seals were changed about a year ago & are still in new condition, as the suit has been stored properly & not used. This suit is good to go!

Buddy Explorer TD BCD. Size medium. Faded but I inflated the bladder more than a week ago and it's still holding pressure in my spare room. A couple of small parts need replacing, as I made the mistake of leaving it in the dive centre I used to work in, but clips, straps, zips and buckles are all perfect. The parts that need replacing are: 1- the piece that joins the inflator elbow to the corrugated hose and 2- the camband that holds the cylinder to the backplate. Neither of these pieces are expensive or difficult to replace- any dive store with an AP Valves account can get hold of them.

Still has the line cutter in the pocket and a whistle attached in the other.

I also still have the instructions for use booklet with the technical data.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

I also have a Halcyon titanium dive knife in it's Halcyon webbing sheath. It's in perfect condition.

Mares MR32 Proton Ice regs- in good condition. Alternate reg, LP inflator hose & SPG. Standard hose lengths all round. Ice reg is a metal second stage- has a small dent on it, but this doesn't affect the performance in any way.

I'm in Plymouth for collection.

Any questions, please ask!

Thanks,

Lauren
