Well I wont comment further as I get cross and have to be sedated.

Interestingly the same thread was started on YD with no comments from divers whatsoever.

Then as far as I know there are no wreck divers on there anyway.

Fear not. Have wound 'em up.

Well I'm pretty new to all this so perhaps my view is naive, but for what it's worth I'm in the sharing information camp. (Seems like the camp may have plenty of space if anyone else wants to join us!)

My interest is in finding out about the wrecks I dive. I'm indebted to those who have identified, researched and published information on the known wrecks. For me that adds an extra dimension to the dive. Hopefully I can help others in the same way by researching and publishing what I find on other wrecks.

Interseting comment - Last year I followed the path of a great uncle who was killed in France in WW1. We were able to find our way to the trench positions and possibly stood on the place where he fell. We also visited the WCG cemetary to find his grave. All achieved without the need for permissions or paperwork. This in an area accessible to absolutely everyone.

At least there are only a limited number of individuals with the opportunity to visit these wreck sites - disproportionate level of control over a minority methinks?

Its partly due to the different attitudes towards land graves and sea graves. The possibility is that a wreck might corrode, or the sand shift, and maybe expose the bones or personal artifacts inside. A purely accidental event, but obviously undesirable.
