Have you decided yet MixedUp? We're all dived up now and 74M isn't that deep?

The Birgette (previously known as Claverley?) is now covered in a monofilament net. Not very nice and somewhat scary. I know as I did it a few weeks ago. Assuming it is the same wreck we are talking about.

A possibility of a space this weekend has come up.
All 3 days available if anyone wants it. Anyone wants less than the 3 days I will have to ask the person who may have to drop out if they are prepared to cut their losses on letting someone take just one day.

Yes that's the one, we could always do something else in the Inner Patch

How does the "less than one day" bit work?

Don't take the piss, I am a simple Welshman trying to learn your language.
I guess "less than one day" means take a drive to Plymouth but don't bother to get on the boat. I think I better change my original post, ![]()

Just spoke to Wrighty and the weather reports are all over the place so at the moment we stick to plan A. (Mainly coz we don't have a plan B)
I looked at Wind Guru this morning and Saturday was showing 11mph wind, whereas on the BBC site it was showing 21mph. So it is still an 8am meet for a 8:30 ropes off.

After a blow out on Saturday we did well the following 2 days. The viz has returned with a minimum of 10 metres noted.
There was one notable casualty as Dan looked somewhat poorly, and didn't dive on the Sunday. Sunday we did an uncharted mark that Wrighty had. I went in first as the sacrificial diver and at 75 metres there were a few pieces of metal, but nothing of any real substance, but I still think there is something close by. So I bagged off to tell the others not to bother coming down. 11 minutes bottom time for a run time of 41 minutes. Despite comments that I did too much deco. This allowed the others to do the city of Antwerp which is reasonably close, although as it was a spring weekend there was a bit of tide as they went in. However they only drifted about a quarter of a mile during deco. Having been approached by a few people after the dive it seems that the favoured tactic would have been for everyone to dive on an uncharted undived wreck, rather that one person going in and having a speculative look. I will keep this in mind for future trips. Monday we went to the Alexander Kennedy which is about a 28-29 mile journey. Again we had great viz, and I think everyone enjoyed the dive. Thanks to everyone who came along.

Steve,
There's been quite a bit of survey activity down the Southwest over the past couple of years, so it might be worth a phone call to the Hydro Office to see if anyone has submitted any sonar images near the mark that you dived. |

Thanks for another excellent weekend Steve - despite your failure to sort the weather for Saturday
I think most of us would have been disappointed to follow you in straight away and dive a rock... then again we'd have been even more disappointed if you'd sent the bell up after 11 minutes !! - always a hard call. I couldn't believe how good the viz was - keeping my fingers crossed that Lyme Bay is a bit better this weekend. |

A good weekend despite the vagaries of weather and rebreathers. Only 5 and a bit hours to get home! waiting for the speeding tickets to come rolling in.

Five Steves and an Alex K
Yep good weekend Steve. Really enjoyed the weekend. I think Sunday worked out for the best in the end, at least for those who did get in the water (
), although it was a close call for me on account of feeling queesy. The Alexander Kennedy was a mighty interesting wreck and seeing HMS Daring and the other RN vessels doing there stuff on the surface added some interest. Ironically did anybody see the program on HMS Daring when they got home? Quite interesting.
